It has been awhile since I have been able to go through the posts. I plan to get a short break from school here after this Friday and take a look at them to catch up. Anyways, I would like to hear how everyone is doing lately. As for me, I'm up studying, burning the midnight oil and thinking about my friends on here.
I hope all is doing better in one way or another. Sending pain free vibes out to all of you. Sincerely, Poncho

Hi Poncho,
I am sure following in your footsteps. I too have been up studying, got accepted into a Masters Program for Special Education paid for by the state of Nevada. Its a hybrid on line program that I can do from my bed theses days while recovering. Only took on one class but they sure require a lot. Got home from LA and have had a bit of a set back I guess its that dreaded distraction pain but taking it easy has helped things calm down. Was prepared for it and is different then the pre-op leg pain. Glad you were able to check in your worlds of wisdom are certainly missed. Your ProDisc little sis,

Greetings,
Wish I could say I was studying as well, especially if my continuing education was financed by the state. My recovery is allowing me to revisit some hobbies that I have neglected for some time. If you have any educational questions or concerns please send me a message; I hold a masters of science in special education and was working toward my doctoral degree before my injury. Take care

Hi Poncho,
it's great to see you back and know that your studies are going well. It's so interesting to see that people who were doing quite a heavy physical job are retraining after ADR into something with a lighter physical load and making a huge success of their lives best, Alastair

Hi Paulette,
It is good to see you recovering so well and back home so soon sis!!! The leg pain will gradually resolve, but make sure you alternate sitting and standing while studying. Crystal, I too wish I could say the same thing about school and financial stuff. I hope that my place of employment will offer some reimbursement, but I won't hold my breath. Thank-you for offering your assistance - I may just need to take you up on it - especially with all the paper writing that is required - uhhg! Alastair, Thank-you! How is life across the pond? It certainly is a goal of mine to obtain a position that has less physical demands. I certainly hope that I can apply what I am learning to a position related to helping spine patients some day. Only time will tell.

I wish I could say that I've had surgery and was recovering --I'm working on improving my bone density and am half way through the Forteo treatment. Getting as many tests/opinions on exactly what the problem is and whether ADR would solve it. My biggest limitation is not being able to sit due to foot pain/numbness. Glad everyone is doing well.

Hang in there spotty, you time will come soon, and you will be on the road to recovery with the rest of us. Just make sure your body is ready to under go an invasive procurer. It looks like you are on the right track. Keep plugging along.
Pancho I agree that changing positions is so important. I am going to get a zero gravity recliner to help with my sitting poison issue. Crystal, you could be more help then you would know for me these days. When might you make your way to Tahoe, I look forward to meeting you soon? The weather is changing but is great Indian summer in full swing and no crowds.

Hi Spotty - Good to hear from you - what exactly is Forteo?
Paulette - I have one of those chairs and love it!!! It is well worth the money in my opinion.

The zero gravity chair has been helpful to quite a lot of members here. You must remember that we are not able to promote this sort of thing that only suggest that it might possibly be helpful.
Best, Alastair

One of the best purchases I ever made was the zero gravity chair. It was the only chair I could sit in prior to my ADR surgery; I could stay there comfortably for hours. I have heard there are generic brands.
