Does anyone have any feedback at all on any attempts to have Charite ADR in the State of Oregon at all? Also am wondering if anyone has yet had the experience of dealing with the Providence Health Plan insurance company specifically Oregon or Providence anywhere for that matter have not read about anyone being approved or denied. Any info greatly appreciated.

Kristy, it is a carrier-dependent issue as you may know. Have you contacted any Charite' approved surgeons? I found this from the locator on my site - http://www.charitedisc.com/charitedev/domestic/locator/

Quick update on the Providence Personal Option coverage in Portland, Oregon. I phoned the Providence provider Charite' approved surgeons that are listed and it does not look good Portland! Not one of them (that is on Providence Personal Option Directory at least) has actually done an ADR with Charite' they have been to the training and thats where it ends. The problem from what I could get out of the very busy assistants appears to also be with the Hospital facilities as well as the insurance companies. We are facing issues with our insurance covering us or not but beyond that the actual Hospitals have to negociate the actual costs of the surgery to each facility and decide if what the insurance company will reimburse for that service is adequate. So far outside of OHSU (Oregon Health Sciences University which of course is not covered under Providence) I didn't find information that any Hospital in Portland has gotten beyond the point of even negotiating reimbursement with insurance companies which has to happen before anyone can even be approved to be covered for this ADR.
Hope this all changes soon or that I just didn't get anyone that was helpful enough and things are not as bad as they seem with moving forward with the ADR in my area. Good Luck to all, Kristy
