We have been back home about 3 weeks. My husband, Jim had 2 level ADR and also fusion. The fusion was necessary to correct the scolosis and kiposis of the spine. We found the following helpful while in Germany:

Unlocked Quad band Cell Phone. We purchased a 20 Euro SEMI (ALDI)to put into the phone. Family and friends could call us. All incoming calls to our "German Cell Phone" was no additional cost to us.
Small translation book
Light weight Fleece Blanket
Credit Card with only the 1% Visa or MC exchange fee (Some cards charge an additional 3-4%)
6-8 containers for Ready to Eat Jello
6 containers for Single serve applesauce.
A few plastic clothes hangers

For more information, please contact us.

These I have added to the FAQ posting and asked for any more this member might have.

I am always delighted to add what is missing, or extra information in an FAQ item.
Best
Alastair

Important information before traveling Overseas.
Get the "local" phone number for the airlines, car rental, hotel, etc. If you call the airlines request they give you the number to call from the country you will be. The 1-800 USA number WILL NOT work when you are overseas.
