Yes, I am wondering the same thing. So that was a good question. Maybe Buckeye knows.?

Yes, I did watch sicko and it made me want to leave the country. My husband already called HR about it. They just thought maybe i should submit more deailed info and get it approved. So frustrating.

I also called metronic for help on my appeal and they said they couldn't help me. That was said because in US it is only apporoved for one level and she said I'm not suppose to have any curative in my spine either. Your cervical can't have curvature for Bryan either. So what other ADR my work for me?

Only if the disc is causing the pinching. If other structures are involved (ie facets, bone spurs, scar tissue) then just removing the damaged disc and replacing it with an ADR may not be enough to resolve all the pain. Know exactly if any stenosis is being caused separate from the disc issue.

Buckeyeback , so during ADR surgery they ONLY go in and replace the discs. Thank you for the info. I will ask my surgeon those questions.

Exactly. Surgeons can do very little through the front of the spine to decompress neural elements.

They can also remove the bone spurs if they have the skill, but those have to be up front.

Like I said, you can try Egosuce. It might straighten out your curvature. It did that for me. You might spend six months doing it, then go back for a new MRI/X-Ray.

Before surgery: severe spinal stenosis C5/C6 (cord "flattened" per stateside doc), + for Hoffman's & Babinsky's.
At time of surgery: 5 yrs MAX before ending up in wheelchair.
Clavel found L5-S1 partially fused. Had to cut it apart to put in M6.
Please excuse brevity - SEVERE carpel tunnel.

HR needs to take a more active role. Like CALLING BCBS. Also, you are correct. Medtronic can ONLY help if it is one level. I frigging hate our insurance system here.

Gene,

Can't wait my surgery to be over. My back is so painful. I didn't even realize my tooth hurt and I needed a root canal today!

I hope I made the right decision!

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayers!

Tammi
