hmmm.. I use the inversion table now around a 45 degree or less incline. it doesn't make me sick. I use it for roughly 15-20 mintues 2-3 times a day. if a small angle or just zero angle to level you out and relieve the stress should be good enough. I notice if I am parallel with the floor (no angle either way) I still receive relief. I also use ice packs on my lower back and neck while I am hanging. it causes a lot of inflammation.

If I were to go an an increasing angle I too would get nausiated.

As for having a disc replacement when it's bone on bone, I'd worry about a greater increase in facet degeneration or slight stenosis post-op. of course your doctor knows infinitely better about you than I ever will, so take his/her advise always.

Ok, blame it on pain meds if you like, but your last statement really hit me as funny. It is a hard question, but if I have to choose I'd say the continuous back pain is the worse.

I appreciate your suggestion about the angle of the inversion table. I think that may have been the problem, the angle was too great.

Your comments about the bone on bone may be right on. May be that is why the doctor won't guarentee an adr. He has said he won't know until he gets into the site.
