Dale,
$200 is an outrageous price to charge. I paid $20 at one place to get my copy of xrays. Did your insurance pay for this or did you pay cash directly to the doctor/hospital? Either way it belongs to you not them. I'd either have the surgeon in Germany request it direct from your doctor or you can make the request. They will make a copy if they are worried about keeping the originals. After your surgery get your copy from your surgeon in Germany as they probably won't need to keep it.

Hi Dale,
it sounds to me as if they've got the decimal point in the wrong place with you. If push came to shove, I would ask them if you could look at them in one of their light boxes, I don't know if you can "speed up your film" in your digital camera but for me I would go and photograph them with your digital camera at no cost at all to yourself if this is their attitude. You can send those to Zeegers or anywhere. Being digital they can be manoeuvred on computer either to zoom in or to bring the detail up really closely for the surgeon to look at.

If they're still going to say $200 -- -- -- it's extortion -- -- -- I'm sure there's someone in the USA helps you with this sort of thing
best,
Alastair
