Met with Dr Clavel and he really made me confident about this surgery and future outcome. He explained everything. Much more than stateside doctors I have been too. Will put up a blurb after surgery and thanks for all the thoughts! I am supposed to be first up in the morning. He said the three ADR would take about 2 hours depending on calcification and nerve root stenosis. Should be up and about 24 hours later!

You are going to do great. He did one of those on me less than two months ago and I am doing GREAT!

Make sure to get out and see the Gothic Quarter - it's AMAZING!!!

You are in very good hands my friend, so no need to worry at all.

See you on the other side!

Thanks Lylith we saw the Gothic quarter last year on a visit. My outcome wasn't as great as I planned. Woke up with arm pain, worst then I ever had and still not sleeping. All they want to give me is Tylenol and Motrin. Everything else seems to be working and healing great except for the arm. i am walking , eating , swallowing Ok and no pain when I turn my neck.

Just took X-rays at 9 pm for DrClavel to review my arm situation I will ask him to bump up the pain meds too, as I have had my limit of Motrin and Tylenol for tonight. If it weren't for the dead painful arm I think I would already be ready to go out on the town. Hopefully Dr Clavel will have a plan tomorrow. He seems to be very. personable and caring and also I'm sure a good surgeon.

I had a lot of calcification and also floraminal stenosis as well as spinal compression stenosis that he had to clean out so he spent an hour extra doing all that. Hopefully nothing was cut that shoudnt have. I head to the hotel tomorrow so I think I will ask for pain meds. 30 years of back trouble and haven't had to take hardly any except for Motrin. Go figure!! He's a great doc and I'm sure it will work out!

Found out that they put your shoulders back to get to theC7 disk space with traction. Sometimes pulls muscles and nerves out of place so i am waiting to see a physical therapist at the hotel. Finally got meds for pain too so should be on tract for recovery as everything else is working fine. He said this sometimes happens on a three level surgery. I now have a $42000 bionic neck, lol.

Good luck in your healing. I read somewhere not to try to judge your progression on a day to day bases. That will just drive you nuts. And that's what I've found in my case. Give yourself time to heal.
