This is a little off topic, but maybe not so much after all. Some time ago, this small non-profit (called "HERS") made a big difference in the treatment options my wife chose for her fibroids. As a result of learning lots from HERS, she opted for a myomectomy rather that a partial hysterectomy. It was a far less invasive procedure, and we both glad she chose that one. She's doing great.
If you know people with problematic fibroids, or any women facing the possibility of OBGYN surgery, this organization has educational material that I encourage you to review. Like the Arthroplasty Patient Foundation, they are a non-profit, 501c3 organization. _________________________________________________ THE HERS FOUNDATION’S TWENTY-SEVENTH HYSTERECTOMY CONFERENCE November 14th-15th 2008 Atlanta, GA Screening of “un becoming”: Friday November 14, 2008 - 7:30 p.m. Join us for a screening of Rick Schweikert’s teleplay, followed by a talk-back (http://www.unbecomingplay.com) Conference: Saturday November 15, 2008 - 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Keynote Address by women’s health advocate and trial lawyer Sybil Shainwald, J.D.
