So Terry,
With your facet pain, it is hard to sit? I don't have pain with sitting per se so maybe I don't have problems with my facets? And backpain comes from somewhere else? Any how, Happy Thanksgiving. Kimmers

It is becoming more painful to sit for extended periods of time. I am hopeful that I just overworked lately with our clinic move. Maybe some rest will help. I am off for four days straight for Thanksgiving and plan on resting.
If this is unsuccessful I will get another set of facet injections. Terry Newton

HI Terry & Maz, are these the treatments where the nerves that are causing the pain in the facet joints are 'burned' so they are no longer 'firing'? I just barely heard of this a week or so ago, and was interested in finding out more about it in case I run into the same thing.

Maddie, typically you'll find that doctors will insist upon the injections Terry talks about to confirm that facets are a pain source then try the rhizotomy (nerve ablation or "burning") if the injections confirm the facets as being painful but don't provide enough relief.
You can find out more about rhizos here or in other places. There's radio frequency, cold, and laser versions of the technique as well as other ideas if you look hard enough. They all do basically the same thing, kill the nerve, but most of the proponents of the non-RF techniques suggest the alternatives do a better job or are easier to control.
