That's good news. I like that you can go without pain meds for at least some time. They always make me nauseous. But I think it is a sign of good start.

I look forward to reading more about your successfully surgery in the outcome forum.

Laura,

Congratulations!!! That's great news that Dr Bierstedt was able to use the M6's. And welcome to "the other side"!

Good luck, Jeff

That is amazing Laura. I am so happy for you that all went well. It won't be long until you are back doing all the things you love.

Please keep us posted on your healing.

Prost

Mark

Default good to hear you're doing good!

Hi LauraB,

Good to hear you're doing well. Just don't do what I did and try to push rehab. I think I set myself back by trying to do too much to soon. What Malte always said to me, you've had a major surgery and it will take time. So I can relate to being so much better after surgery that you want your life back immediately, but give it time.

I am looking forward to healing at slower pace. My excitement for loss of pain was surprising. I didn't know how bad I was until it was gone. I realize (thank you SB) that I need to slow down so that this is long-lasting. I will post on the surgical outcome - since I have now graduated to that part of the forum - yeah!!! I can tell some of my residual effects of pain killers had a little impact on my writing - sorry. I'm a teacher with much better writing/editing skills. Had a good laugh - and I might add that I had edited 3x before posting.

Although I am at Recklinghausen hospital (Elisabeth), Dr. Bierstedt and the staff here are outstanding. Everything about this place is wonderful, clean, and a perfect environment for healing. It is quiet, peaceful, and very respectful. No one interferes throughout the day to unnecessarily take your "vitals." When you need a nurse, they are right there. I'm being released to Medicos a day earlier (Thursday) so everything is going great. One day after surgery and I'm feeling pretty good - sleeping is still a bit of a problem, but that will adjust in time.
Thanks to all and fellow graduates.

Whooo Hooo! Laura, I am so happy for you. Isn't it amazing how we learn to live with pain and then discover how fabulous it is to be pain free? I still marvel at the amazing way I feel every day... Wonderful news Laura! So happy that your pain is reduced and a better life awaits you.

Will hope to see you here Donnerstag. Medicos is wonderful and passing through all of the coded doors reminds me of the old show Mission Impossible.

Although the weather is very dreary here in Germany, I feel pretty cheery inside. I'm actually going to head to Medicos a day early - sounds good to me. I'm looking forward to a little activity and socializing.
