I porked w/o much warning and went "what happened"? So I went to Cedars-Sinai weight loss program and bought this stuff directly from them w/o joining:
http://www.hmrprogram.com/foods.html My favorites are Chicken Savory, the Mushroom something, Lasagna/Meat (but get nervous w/Mad Cow/hamburger), Ravioli, and Chicken Creole (v. salty). Seems smart to add veggies/fruit to this. I didn't join but this is Cedars' program: http://www.csmc.edu/2959.html I hear it works great if you can stick to it 95% - and that's the rub.. I dropped 10 lbs. in about two wks. (unfortunately) w/o serious aerobics. I do not have any financial ties w/this company. Portion-control. Stoked.. Allan

I don't know why or how, but I have lost close to 50 lbs. in the last 6 months or so. I think the reason is the meds; I just don't have an appetite. Because I dont have an appetite, my portion sizes have been cut in half at least. About a month ago I had to go buy some shorts that fit, well now they dont fit. All I know is that I feel better, about myself and my health. Alan good for you and keep it up. You will feel great when you reach your goal.

Cathy, same here. I've been losing weight for over a year now. I just weighed in at 147 lbs and I'm 5'10"! I'm going to try and put some weight back on now that I'm recovering.
Allan, good luck and stay disciplined and the weight will fly off! Best, Dan

Thanks Dan! I think that once a person *sees* results from action, that they can feel empowered. Btw, I hope you don't do a "Supersize Me" to gain wt.

Allan,
I just wanted to say that you are awesome! Your support on this forum is not overlooked--keep up the good work. Congrats on the weight loss--I know how hard it can be. I lost 70 pounds with hard work and diet after my first spine surgery at the age of 17. I have kept it off, as I had to overhaul my lifestyle. I am rooting for you Allan! Justin |

Thanks Justin but what support? I'm merely bragging.
To lose and keep off 70 lbs. is phenomenal - against most odds. Stay/heal well Justin; good luck in medical school. - Allan

LOL. McDonald's - YUCK. I'm thinking Lobster and filet mignon dinners! After all of this, I've realized that life is very precious and short. I might as well enjoy it NOW! I'm heading to the Caribbean next year after I've recovered some more and I'm well enough.
