2 weeks post op m6 lumbar disc replacement at L5/S1
hi
just a quick intro. i had a disc replacement in london at the london clinic in harley street. i am 2 weeks post op,and recovering at home. back pain from which i suffered for 2 years completely gone.. just sore burning locally at disc site improving daily. abdominal bikini line incision fine but still swollen .contents of abdomen still pretty unimpressed with having been handled but settling. on the whole in a very positive place if sore my prosthesis is an m6 lumbar disc replacement. i would love to hear from anybody recovering now or recently just to compare experiences, and would be happy to share my experience with anyone. |

Paula,
Congratulations on what sounds like a successful surgery and on being rid of two years worth of pain! Who was your surgeon?

Paula,
4 months out today. It's a seesaw ride for sure. Feel great though and the past two weeks like it never happened which is dangerous in my mind. Gotta remind myself that im not done healing and take it easy. Sounds like your off to a great start. Just try to take it easy since most likely there will be ups and downs as you heal. Most likely you will plateau at times and then get stiff and have some new or same pain mechanisms. Dont get discouraged since I have been there and have been told its normal as everything settles. Working on posture really helps. It is very strange to go through. And when they tell you 3 months for significant change they mean it. It seams that the healthier you go in the better the result. Wishing you well and a uneventful recovery. Walk walk walk Stay in touch if you need any help. Frank
