Ansnj,

Both surgeons are highly skilled and are highly recommended. May I suggest eenie-meenie- minie -mo? All joking aside, go with whomever you feel most comfortable. Also, if your stateside follow-up surgeon has an opinion I'd take that into consideration too.

Question Dr. Bierstedt requires additional insurance

According to Malte Petersen, patients of Dr. Bierstedt are required to purchase additional insurance. Does anyone know why this is required and what exactly it covers along with its cost?

Default Additional insurance

The insurance covers the costs of additional surgery. This could be the result of Dr. Bierstedt finding something additional during your surgery which he has to address and wasn't covered in your payment. It also covers anything that might go wrong for a specified period of time after the surgery. Trust me you want to have this insurance. The only difference between Dr. Bierstedt and other European surgeons is that they may have already included this cost in their package.

Thanks NJ Gene, that makes sense. Guess when the time comes need to find out all the specifics of the additional insurance.

Does anyone know the period of time this additional insurance covers and what it includes?

Thanks !

Don't quote me on this but from what I've read/heard it covers up to a year post surgery for anything that goes wrong. Now if you fall or do something you shouldn't its on you.

Also, I have yet to hear from Yolanda that everyone speaks about. I have emails from gals named Lisa and Nicci, not sure how they are associated with Dr. Clavel.

Thank you all, will keep you posted on my progress in making a decision.
I've mentioned this a couple of times in previous posts. For $20.00 to $25.00 (max) you can send your CD over by Global Priority Mail with tracking. It generally takes about 4 to 5 business days to get to most places in Europe from the U.S. I actually sent my CD to Mr. Dare by regular air mail. I mailed it on a Thursday (from the East Coast) and it was in his office the following Monday.
