I would like to consolidate some of the smart and helpful posts I've seen through the months into thematic documents. One important subject that comes to mind is post op therapy - wouldn't it be great to get a nicely written doc (the most helpful threads) in one place?!

For anyone that can help, I need folks to:

- sift through the threads
- identify ones that contain useful content
- edit / consolidate into drafts
- get permissions, when appropriate, from members for minor edits & changes

The intent is take the enormously helpful posts many people have shared, dress them up a little and make them more visible. I hope that makes sense and this is helpful.

If you have good writing & editorial skills, pls let me know. Thanks!

Harrison,
This sounds like it could be a very useful project. I would like to help out as I have time. I won't claim to have good writing skills but would be interested in trying to help out some. Do you have any more info on exactly what needs to be done or would be helpful?

Harrison, I am with SS in the point that I dont claim to have great writing skills but would love to help in any way that I can. Since I will be home for 6 weeks it would give me something to work on.

Let me know what it is you need and your plan.

Greetings Harrison,

Since the previous respondents do not claim to possess great writing skills, I may be rather brash if I mention my familiarity with the English language. I am an educator with a master of science degree in special education. During my post operative "down time" I have begun participating in the posts and topics more frequently. If other individuals direct me to certain threads and/or topics I would be willing to condense or synthesize several posts. I will probably remain off work until the new calendar year. Please reply if you have any further directions, questions, or concerns.
Graciously,
Crystal Beget

Harrison,

As a non-published writer, I probably have better editing skills than writing and am also a great organizer. What I don't have is first hand knowledge of what may or may not be relevent or important. If someone can guide me, I'll be happy to help.

By reading all of our responses so far it seems that we are willing to help, but are lacking direction on how to begin this task. My guess is that the "dirty work" of this project is actually reading and sifting through each of the threads and individual posts and categorizing them into more meaningful and useful groups. While not a huge glutten for punishment, if we could each select a different topic i.e. Insurance coverage, and search for all relevant posts for that topic, we could divide and conquer the website.

Let me know what you think...

I am very happy that you all have offered your ideas and support. Out of the many helpful things that could be provided to the community, one involves some cursory analysis; not medical or nec. scientific, but rather summaries of certain threads that contain helpul information. Some of the ones that come to mind are:

- best practices in winning appeals against the evil beancounters of the world (insurance companies);

- best choices in ADR post-op treatment;

- the ever inflammatory debate on US vs. European doctors;

- many more.

You get the point, if we can summarize these some of these topics in a summary fashion, perhaps posted as an FAQ, it would be very helpul. For those of you that volunteered for this noble and difficult task, pls email me to get started. It will be helpful and will only hurt a little. OK, maybe more than a little.

Pls email me at info@adrsupport.org

I would really appreciate the posts being divided into cervical fusion, cervical adr, lumbar fusion, lumbar adr, etc. It would make looking up something applicable to oneself so much easier. I would like to help, but don't have the time, but anything that doesn't require too long stretches, I would be happy to help.
