I was just informed from my operations supervisor at work that he wants to meet with me tomorrow. This is in regards to accomodations for the American Disabilities Act.

Does anyone know anything about ADA? Let me guess, he is going to transfer me into a different position that will be "easier" for me and take away about 1/2 my pay?

To say I am a little concerned about this meeting is an understatement. I just purchased my first home 1 year ago and my wife is already on SSI from severe rheumatoid arthritis. I am stretched to the last dime trying to keep my home as it is.

Sorry if I sound a little negative but I think reality is about to slap me in the face.

There are several components to the ADA including law regarding the hiring process and reasonable accommodations in employment. What specifically would you like to know? You can send me a PM message if you like and I can give more information. What State are you in?

Wow...do I feel like an idiot! I way overreacted about this meeting. They just wanted to know how much in a % about each individual task I perform makes up my day. I am guessing if I continue to have problems making it to work, that they will use this as ammo on saying that I can't perform my job adequately. Maybe not though...anyways sorry for the big panic. All is fine for now....other than the pain.

You had every reason to be concerned imo.

American With Disabilities Act is about making reasonable accomodation for an employee that can perform the necessary duties of the designated job.
When one can no longer perform the duties of the position even with reasonable accomodation, then the employer may consider other options for the employee.
I agree, you had reason to be concerned~ hopefully with accomodations you can retain your job/your present salary~
