Pablo,
You ask a million dollar question that will be addressed at Mark's NYC forum. There w/be experts talking about the efficacy of "savlage"/fixit re-entry surgery. From my reading, fusion can be an alternative but not *always*. For this reason alone, if I had surgery, I'd really baby my back. Best wishes, ans

Severe, extensive DDD, considered inoperable by Dr. Regan, Lauressen, & some guy at UCLA. Severe foraminal stenosis (guess they can't operate!) and some spinal cord compression that Lauryssen would fix if gets outta hand.

Pablo how many ADR's did you have - "L3-S1" implies THREE to me ( L3/4, L4/5 and S1/L5)
Are american doctors doing 3 level ADR's now ?

2005- large protruded disc and severe lumbar stenosis , 3level ADR/fusion candidate L3/4, L4/5 and L5/S1 Disectomy at L3-4 and L4-5 in 2002 Repeat at L3-4 in 2003 Also have Severe stenosis at C5/6 and C6/7- Cervical fusion recommended also.

Thanks alot my friends for the feed back. Everyone is right I should take it easy. Queenofhearts, good for you. I am looking forward to working out again. I started two weeks ago but I called my surgeon to make sure it was ok and he said absolutely not to work out. And to stop my jogging. It felt so good to get back in my routine again. Oh well it did scare me to see some people in here having to have surgery after their ADR.
Thomas I had a three level ADR here in Santa Monica,CA. I am in an FDA clinical trials. I am pretty sure it's not approved yet. ANS, I won't be able to make the ADR symposium, but it sure would be great to find out what happens if the first ADR fails.

Hey Pablo: glad you're cooling it but I sure understand the urge to work out.
There's a small chance that the ADR symposium w/be in tapes and if I hear anything about "salvage surgery", I'll let you know asap. Best..

Maybe you need to find a job working for one of those construction inspection and testing companies.....you know, the guys hired by cities and developers to inspect the contract and asphalt used by contractors to make sure they meet specifications....that way your experience is still valuable, but you do nothing harder physically than inspection (sometimes you have to carry some samples, but still better than concrete demo).
