Hi my name is Paul J...

I will soon be entering the Kineflex Study in Reno with Dr. Rappaport. I have DDD at L5 S1 and have been enduring the pain since 2000. I have not been fused as I await the ADR surgery since the doctors said, "To hold on and wait." I hope it's all worth it since my life has been topsy-tervy since it all began. I did have a failed disectomy in 2001 with no relief at all. My question is for anyone out there who has participated in this clinical study: What did you think, how was your outcome? I appreciate all input since my major snafu was the insurance companies would not cover this procedure and Spinal Motion will pick up the tab for 2 years. I had no luck with Cigna and find it overly frustrating that I still await a decision on a 3rd appeal.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the world of information and support.

Paul and I are neighbors he lives down the hill from me. I am so glad to see you here and headed off on the road to getting yourself fixed. I'm sure there will be many more to follow.

But I will be your biggest cheerleader.

Hi Paul,
we have had some members with the Kineflex prosthesis. Try using the search facility at the top right-hand side and no doubt you'll be able to talk to them about how they're getting on.

Best,
Alastair

Hi Paul,
I am part of the Kineflex study and received a Kineflex disc at L5-S1 in July 2005. My surgery was a complete success. I am totally pain-free and take no meds and I can do almost anything I choose. Feel free to email me any specific questions you may have.
