I saw Dr. Bierstedt and Illerhaus when they visited NY. They recommend a two level disc replacement at C4-5 and C7-T1. They are recommending the synergy disc for lordotic reconstruction. I also made an appointment with a Dr. in New York listed on your resource page to see what he recommends.
However, based on what I have read on your forum the synergy disc has not been approved in the states. Does the disc being used make a difference? Does anyone have an opinion on if it is better to go to Germany for Surgery. Does the artificial disc used by the doctor make a difference … Are there any questions I should be asking the Doctor? Any assistance or education that you provide would be appreciated. Thank-you BAL

Fusion C5-6, and C6-7 over 13 years ago. C4-5, large central herniation impinging the cord, moderate degeneration, and mild rt foraminal stenosis C7-T1, severe degeneration, bulging disc effacing the cord, moderate rt foraminal stenosis. Spinal Cord stimulator which relied on for years, no longer masking pain so it is tolerable and at times it appears stimulator actually causing more pain. Would like information on artificial disk replacement at C4-5 and C7-T1. |

BAL, so sorry, I just noticed that we did not reply. Anything new since you posted? Have you researched or read anything that has moved you forward?
