Great post. I didn't know about a lot of these, especially about grapes. Best thing I've found for back pain are essential oils. I've been using Frankincense, Heilichrysum, and a product called "Deep Blue" (Wintergreen, Camphor, Blue Tansy, & several others). I simply put a few drops of each on my lower back. I can't explain completely how it works but it does.

I've never had any luck with these kinds of things, but I know people that swear by them. Had you listed one for tendonitis, I'd be trying it.

I have replaced ALL my pills with medical marijuana. I needed a particular strain to get off the opiates. It took me 4 times to detox from 4mg Roxi every 3 hours. My script was 90mg Roxi every 3 hours and cannabis got me down to 4mg and then totally off the pills. I have the same awful pain, I just deal with it differently. The medical marijuana program in NJ was set up for failure and we're trying to fix it. We're showing people you don't need these man made drugs. I'm not on here much but you can IM me on FB if you have a question.

Eddie,

What's the deal with your failed fusion? I'm assuming your L5/S1 didn't fuse? What type of fusion procedure did you have? Did screws break?

Food Is Medicine: 20 Natural Painkillers in your Kitchen

Intro/excerpt:

Food Is Medicine: 20 Natural Painkillers in your Kitchen
BY ANTRANIK – APRIL 8, 2013

In many ways, we don’t really need much advice because we already know basically what we should do:
  • Eat a variety of foods, especially whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.
  • Minimize candy, soda and other empty calories.
  • Watch how much we eat.
  • Do some physical activity every day.
As a nation, we are increasingly eating more processed foods. Our supermarkets are full of convenient packaged foods that appeal to our taste buds, but compromise our nutrition. In addition, we are eating less variety of foods. Ironically, while 17,000 new products are introduced each year, two-thirds of our calories come from just four foods: corn, soy, wheat, and rice.

(Pie chart showing two-thirds of the calories we consume come from corn, soy, rice, and wheat.)

Nor is our food the same as it was 20 years ago. Nutrients in the soil have been depleted, so food grown in that soil has fewer nutrients. Chemicals are increasingly used in raising both plants and animals, particularly on huge industrial farms that specialize in a few products.
