There are quite a few new pain meds available, although it seems a majority of Dr.'s are hesitant to prescribe them. You may have to find a pain medication specialist. This may give you much needed temporary relief until you can determine a long term solution. Take care and good luck!

2000-2008-back pain due to running, car and motorcyle accidents/25 injections, 3 physical therapy attempts, chiropractic, medication

Hi Johnny Vegas
I'm new to pain boards so I did leave it out of my signature. All dosages are MG unless otherwise stated. I started with Lortab at 10/500 and when that didn't work as well as usual I was prescribed Percocet 10/325 and Soma at 350 for muscle relaxation. Naprosyn at 550 was also prescribed but this prolotherapy treatment I've been taken of late has the Doctor removing naprosyn until the procedure is complete.

Because of the length of time since my injury, I have sought out psychiatric help. I was given Cymbalta at 60, Ambien at 12.5 mcg and Xanax XR at 2. Valium at 10 was prescribed after the first prolotherapy muscle spasm (described above). BTW I've had my second prolotherapy treatment and have had mixed results, but onward and upward!

P.S. Some may think that this is an inordanant amount of medication but it's all been prescribed by Doctors who are emphathetic or have gone through spinal surgery themselves. And the pain still punches though 90% of the time.

Sincerely,

Adaris
