Yeah, the American Insurance systems baffles us too! I've often thought how nice it would be not to have private companies lining their pockets at the agony of others, but then I watched the VA hospital kill my father-in-law by not treating him fast enough. I don't really think we want GOVERNMENT uneducated paper-pushers deciding on our health care. The private ones are bad enough! That'd be even worse! Cheaper, but not at the cost of the wait. Glad Canada and Australia seem to do ok with theirs! I know I'm lucky that I had a well-behaved Workers Comp-at the cost of an attorney, but hey- -$0- out of pocket! I'm still wondering on the total of what my one level ADR in the US would've cost me as no one but one surgeon ever sent me a statement. Anyone know? I specifically want to know how much the implant itself costs here.

I believe that Australia has a national weekly lottery. Some percentage of the proceeds go to cash awards and the remaining percentage to healthcare system.

How simple and creative.
