Pablocruise..
Honey...get real! Jackhammering w/ADR~ if you do return to that job and don't sustain any further injury/pain, that comeback story should definately be featured in Journal of Orthopedic Spine Surgery!
Anyway, wishing you the best whatever you'll be doing~ tho hope it will be something quite a bit easier on the bod~

Pablo,

Don't ever jackhammer! You don't have the unique physiology of a woodpecker to protect yourself.

I would not do that type of job post ADR no matter how long in duration, it is too direct on the spine, it is not worth the risk. I can visualize an exploding spinal column.

Oh man, exploding, not good... I started my cardio again and my legs are pretty sore but I feel pretty good.
I see my surgeon on Wednesday. That's when I'll find out what he thinks about me going back to full duty, and when he thinks I can go back. This filling and data input is getting old. I mean I don't mind it but I miss being outside and working!!

Pablo,
I am currently on total disability from my job as a PE Teacher for children with disabilities. It is a very physically demanding job. I lift students in and out of their wheelchairs, set up and carry around gross motor activities between 12 schools having to set up and take down 2-3 times a day. The 50lb+ sand table I hall around doesn't help.

If you can get back to jack hammering maybe I can get back to my job as well. I felt this was not the case and that my career was over and would have to change. I am applying for a masters degree program that could put me into the classroom with Special Ed. This will not be as physically demanding. Not as fun and a lot more head aces I will be keeping an eye on your progress and love to know when your back to full duty. Be careful!

Remember this.. your doctor can tell you anything~ however, your body is what you will contend with on a daily basis for the rest of your life. Treat this second chance like a gift from God and with respect~
Anyway, I believe if your doc says you can jackhammer, he's a Jack Arse... meaning I'm pretty sure if you ask about doing this activity he will recommend against it...
What else can you do outside w/your job?? Hopefully whatever it is, that will be enough outside activity for you..
