Dr. Biersedt does the tops procedure. A poster on this board had it done a number of years ago in connection with a hybrid. Last I heard, he was wind surfing! Given my lumbar spondy I asked Dr Clavel. He doesn't favor TOPS or coflex in the US. Ididn't geet into the why of it, since I want to enjoy mynew neck before worrying about more.

Dr Clavel said he quit using the Coflex many years ago because it creates kyphosis. Dr. Pettine recommended it for my L3/L4 so, I asked him about it.

Default Just my opinion

I have been researching for 3 years n in my opinion the more surgerys you have before ADR the less chances of a 100 percent successful adventure. Again just my observations and also the less you weigh n no smoking! In prep for ADR (yes I'm bragging) since Christmas I have lost 80 pounds n getting ready to quit smoking. Dr James j Yue at Yale told me 25-35 BMI with 25 being optimal n stop smoking at least 60 days prior to surgery.
