Is this Withdraw?

I think I may be going through a little withdraw... I felt so good that I reduced my oxycodone to about half the dose over 3 days... reading that makes me realize that was a bit too fast.... I haven't really gotten out of bed today; I feel like I'm going to toss my cookies and keep getting hot and cold. The good news is my back doesn't hurt.

Has anyone else expereinced this? What did you do? How slow should I taper off the meds?

Also, I was on vicoden for about 6 months then moved to oxycodone for my surgery 2 weeks ago (12 per day 5mg), could this really be withdraw since I haven't been on the Oxy very long?

Only your doctor can confirm your symptoms and tell you how quickly or slowly to wean off a particular drug, but nausea and hot/cold definitely were part of my morphine withdrawal. I cut my doses since I felt great, and it was awful. Later learned that for every day on morphine, I needed to count two days weaning time.

Good news that your back doesn't hurt though

A lot of this depends on how long you have beenon the meds but cutting your dosage in half over three days is a harsh and quick thing to do to your body at this time especially after your recent surgery.
Yes the symptoms that you describe do sound like withdrawals off medications but without seeing a doc its impossible to say 100% that is what you are going through.
Do you have a local pain management person who can help you to taper off your meds? I have read that this is very essential to those of us who have been on medications for a long time!
Its great you are feeling well without the pain but still some things need to be taken slowly.
If you dont have a pain management person call your primary care doc and ask them how to taper off the meds. It might take a month or longer to do it without too many physical complaints but will be worth it in the long run if you can get through this without the awful symptoms that you are having now.
And remember, there is no set time line for you to be off medication right now! Dont be a martyr!

I completely agree with Kim. I just went through withdrawals from methadone and Fentanyl after 6 months post surgery. Believe me it was a shock to my body at 6 months. Your body has been through a great deal during spine surgery and already fighting to heal. I would allow it time to recover before you go into this withdrawal situation. Let your body get back to its pre-surgical state first. God bless you and I wish you a quick recovery!!
