Sorry I didn't know how to title this.

I've been having a really rough time the last few weeks which has really escalated in the last 3.

On top of everything, I've been getting bouts of feeling feverish ~ hard to explain but like I'm starting with the flu but nothing is coming of it except the red hot pain not just being felt in my back but radiating from it as well ~ even the acupuncturist last week asked if I normally felt so warm. Physically I've been struggling to keep warm. I don't know if it's the damp weather playing a part or not but last night I even put the heating on for a bit!

There's no point in me going to see my GP as he'll have less of a clue than me & will tell me to "wait & see what the clever people have to say"!! (Been there many times before!)

I've also got what feels like sciatica on both sides although it varies as to which side is the worst.

Has anyone else had any of this that can offer any helpful advice? I know it's not long now till I see Mr Lam but thought I'd ask away on here

Lyndsay,
Not sure what you're feeling or why. Wish i could help. I just had a fusion/adr combo almost two weeks ago and I'm acutally having the same weird thing, so maybe it's back related. I have been having some cold sweats, and sweating though the sheets every night, but no major temperature, nor is it turning into anything. I mentioned something to my surgeon when I saw him yesterday and he didn't think it meant anything *which is good since I was worried about infection*.

Let me know if you learn anything from Mr Lam. I'm curious as to how the back can influence body temperature.

I also had night sweats after surgery and this lasted for months. I would wake up soaking wet. I had chalked it up to possibly being thrown in to menepause due to the fact they disturbed all my organs and I have had a partial hystorectomy. I never ran a fever or had any sign of infection. Maybe this is a side affect of the surgery. I wonder if anyone else experienced this. BrendaWY

Why not see your doc to get a complete blood count to rule out an infection or anything else. Mention your night sweats and good luck!

Lyndsay, several other folks seem to be having infection-related problems post surgery. I am inviting you to a private discussion on this.

I'm Pre-Op at the mo so I can't blame it on that! It has however been suggested that I have Fybromyalgia so am now waiting to see the Rheumatologist on 21 Sept for a firm dx.

Still feel rubbish, saw a Dr last week & he was a complete waste of time so waiting for my usual GP to return from holiday.

All the best

Lyndsay

Hi Lindsay,
I don't think you're imagining things, I am corresponding with a number of people in the UK at the moment who have got some form of flu including my own sister. I'm afraid you just have to deal with it in the usual manner, and make sure you've got it out of your system prior to surgery.
Best,
Alastair
