Hello all,
I found this link on the web and found it very interesting. I don't think it would be approved today but I am pretty sure they were pioneers of the day and by using an anterior approach for this surgery most likely paved the way for modern techniques today. Their success rates were pretty low but without medical pioneers we would not have advancements today. Just wish insurance companies would advance rather than go backwards and let doctors and indaviduals make the decision of what is in the patient's best intrest. It makes me wonder about how we are harnessing and sharing information...
