Nah. Kaiser. Kinda says it all there, huh?
How old are you again, also your BMI? Two important questions!

MRI in 2012 showing L4/L5, L5/S1 herniations and L2/L3 bulge. L5/S1 taking on new shape, chronic sciatica, etc. DEXA bone scan performed 5/7/14 showing mild osteopenia. Surgery performed July 9th, 2014, Dr Clavel, hybrid three level lumbar. |

Cool. Specifically how tall are you and your weight? Sorry should have asked that first. Trying to see how big of a man you are overall.

Drewrad,
5 10" 170lbs. My 16 year old son is already taller than me. You thinking about plate size?

Yes, but vertebrae can be different sizes despite height and weight, but still.
Anyways, SK changed their M6s recently to have larger endplates. They now have an XL size.

drewrad,
I posted an image from my MRI, do you think my sacral slope is too steep for an ADR? Have not spoken to a specialist yet, weeks out. Jeremy

37 y/o former hockey player and then powerlifter. Looked into hybrid adr/fusion at L4-S1 but it's $30k oop cost. Also facets are hurting so ADR could fail quickly. Looking into TLIF at those 2 levels with back up plan to do ADR if any other levels fail after fusion. Hope you get answers you need.

Hope you get well soon! You mentioned 'facets hurting', what are the symptoms? Where dose it hurt from the facets? Jeremy

My facets were pretty bad at L4-S1
MRI and CT showed moderate facet hypertrophy on right side. Felt like pinching, burning always aching. At first the more mobile i was the better it felt. My facets started getting caught and locking and i felt the need to have to lean and pop them almost hourly. It got so bad i went for facet block on right side L4-S1 and then the ablation. It took the pinching away but i was still getting locked. Had a PLIF L4-S1 April 13th 2015..Im doing pretty good. I asked my doc and he told me my facets were pretty gnarled up. Glad he removed them and glad i didnt listen to Biersdadt last February. He told me my facets looked fine on my MRI when i went to see him in NYC. Due your due diligence before committing to any type of surgery. BTW your MRI looks a lot better than mine from 2014. Not much nerve compression. I didnt have much sciatic pain but the mechanical LB pain kept getting worse month by month. BTW, Clavel told me i had a steep sacral slope when i sent him my images in 2014. 2014 MRI and my PLIF
