Hi guys,
I found out today that Regence BCBS (based in Washington state) is approving my hospital stay and charges for a single level Charite surgery with Dr. Regan. I do not know if they will approve Dr. Regan's and Dr. Wagner's (vascular surgeon) fees, but I have worked out a reasonable fee structure with the two doctors if those costs are denied. I don't know if its appropriate to say exactly what those costs come to, but lets just say its not nearly as expensive as I thought. PM me for more. I'm going in on 8/2! Dan

Congratulations. Is this using your PPO or HMO? How come BCBS in Washington State has approved and not the Calif. branch? Just wondering.

Spotty14,
Its Regence BCBS PPO of Washington. From what I understand BCBS has different policies in each state or groups of states that are affiliated with each other. BCBS of CA has a bad rep right now in terms of paying for ADR according to my Doc. Its bizarre and makes no sense to me, but thats the way it is right now. Thanks Kat. Dan

My BCBS of NY approved a two-level with Regan for April, 2005. The devil was in the fine print if they'd pay or not - despite authorization.
