Hi Anne
I'm south of you in Staffordshire. I've been having problems with sensitivity with my meds, they think because of the fibro? Now I have what seems like everything from co-codamol to morphine with anti-spasmodics & anti-nausea's as well I have been able to cut down my meds on the odd day so I feel it's a step in the right direction. Hope everything is still going well for you

Sorry to hear you're having problems with the meds. How do you cope with the morphine?! I had real problems going to the loo for about a week after I had my surgery because of the morphine, then later because of the Dihydrocodeine. I don't know what was worse, the post op pain or the constipation - I got really depressed, weepy and bad tempered around that time through sheer frustration. On Monday I managed a short trip Christmas shopping with my partner, but he said he felt bad for taking me because he could tell I was flagging by the way I was walking. It wasn't as bad as I thought and having an excuse not to carry anything for a while certainly paid dividends (for me, not him!). I've also done a bit of hoovering today without much protest from my back or legs. Chin up - if you can manage the odd day without meds you're definitely on the right track. Anne

Has anyone mentioned to either of you about having your medication in a suppository form so it doesn't affect your stomach?
I'm sorry to hear about your accident Lynsey Best, Alastair

Hi Anne
Hoovering ~ wow you're a brave lady!! You have probably read Alastair's "slow & steady" affirmation it's very true Now I've seen the new pain specialist I'm coping better with my new medications. I had to come off the slow release morphine as they just made me so sick I now have normal release which I tolerate much better. As for the constipation, I've not been too bad thankfully. I have Lactulose that I take twice a day (when I remember ) along with Senna tablets. I do suffer with IBS so I always knew I would have to be careful. You may have read I had a bit of an accident on Monday & feel I've taken quite a few steps back & if things haven't improved by Friday I may try to speak to Mr Lam & see what he thinks. Anyway, I'm so glad to read how well you're doing Anne & long may it continue & please keep posting how you're doing Take care

Read your posting on your accident - sorry to hear it. I have to remind myself to take care when getting in and out of the car especially if I am having a good day. How are the distraction pains? I went through similar feelings to you when I first got them - thought I'd made the worst decision of my life, was scared that the disc had slipped. This site is so good at reassuring you, and it's great to be able to talk to others in the same boat. Let me know how you are getting on - hope the Thoracic pain sorts itself out soon Anne
