Has anyone got on a roller coaster after ADR? How long was it post-op before you went on one?

Pablo,

I went on MANY rollercoasters at 7 months post-op. This is next on my list this summer: Kingda Ka.

I made sure to avoid JERKY rides--I took advice from friends and I asked many people at the rides. My brother often did a test run for me!

Dude you are crazy!! I figured I would try the little Disney rides first, to see how I feel.
That's a good idea to have a test runner for you!!

I had a 2 level cervical on 1-12-05 and a 2 level lumbar in 2002 and I just got back from DisneyWorld, MGM, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom and I went on the roller coasters. I am no worse for the wear and still on no pain meds. My surgeon said that my disks were very stable and it should be fine if I am not hurting. I didn't go on Aeosmith at MGM because I heard it was real jerky. I went on Space Mountain twice. It was fun!

caused problem at L3/4 and L2/3

Bedbound from 09-06 until 10-08 due to severe pain and weakness
09-08 - Had Fibrin sealant done at L3/4 and L2/3 After 6 weeks - much success!
Hoping and praying that the lumbar revision surgery that was scheduled with Dr. Regan
can be indefinitely postponed

The Aerosmith rollercoaster isn't jerky. I avoided the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland as I have heard it is very jerky.

Pablo--the rides at Disneyland and Disneyworld are all ok (I choose to avoid Indy as my brother was going to shoot me if I tried to get on it ).

Paul,

Indiana Jones

Oh yeah, I avoided this ride as it is jerky too: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The Tower of Terror is great fun and it isn't hard on the back!
