Hi Terra

Appearances can be deceptive, I wish I were young and vibrant! I'm 52 years young but feel 92 some days.

Out of interest what sort of follow ups do you have for the cranial issues? I have annual MRI brain scans to check for recurrence of tumour. So far all they've shown is surgical scarring...I've never actually asked about the possibility of the scarring being connected to the morning headaches but will at the next appointment (will likely get the cracked egg example again).

A hybird surgery for your spondylolisthesis sounds good to me...vertebral displacement is another way of putting to help others to understand the terminology. Its amazing what we learn along the way isn't it. The more I learn the more I realise I don't know.

Terra it really seems like you have the plan worked out, just hope the action comes soon for you.

All the very best

Lynda

I've now met with my primary care physician, audiologist, and a neuroogist (headache specialist) Now I'm trying to get off MS contin so I can try Tomaxifin for the head pain. The process is going surprisingly well. The audiologist is trying to set up testing for a couple devices I might be able to try so I can hear. MYPCP thinks I should see a NS he knows. He's local. Now I;'m going to have to run around and get all my imates together in orgder to make this possible. It might not even be posbbile however. I called the NS office and his intake person says their docotrs typically don't take on other doctors cases. I said I don't mind sticking to my original NS in regars rto the head but the neck hasn;t been operated on except my thryoid which doesn't really cound. Now snce I made this initial call, I've not heard back fromt this other NS office. Now I'm worried if local NS don't want to help me and my NS 400 mles away can't tresat due to insurance cntract...gosh. I'm screwed!

Hi there Terra

Thanks for updating us.

Sounds like you are making progress. Good luck getting off the MS Contin and hope the Tomaxifin helps the headaches. It seems you are in a catch 22 situation with your insurance, I really hope your local NS will take on your case cervical spine wise. Your healthcare system seem so complicated to me but I hope that it all works out for you.

Best wishes

Lynda
