Hello. I am currently in the process of creating a third appeal to CIGNA for an L5-S1 ADR for my wife. Like most of the rest of you, her claim was denied due to expirmental/unproven. I was wondering if any of you that have had the procedure done would be willing to fax me any documentation that your insurance company sent to you saying that they would approve the procedure? I would greatly appreciate any help and you sould feel free to block out any personal information (ie account numbers, addresses, etc). I just want some more ammo to prove to CIGNA that there are people getting the treatment done. If you are willing to help, you can leave me a private message and I will give you my fax number. Thank you all for your help and support.

Drew, I never saw the approval letter because the doctor's office took care of everything, but I will call the accountant's office and try and get it for you. It really angers me that your insurance company won't approve you. That's why you pay your insurance, to get help when you need it!!!

Drew,
I won my appeal with BCBS after six months of hell with them. I had my surgery at TBI with Blumenthal and the results were excellent. I got some late information from the depuy spine people after i won my appeal that pertains to the new procedure codes that are in place for adr surgical procedures. These codes just went into affect july 1st of this year. i would be glad to send you this information plus some of the appeals prcess i went through. It is a long battle, BUT DO NOT GIVE UP. I really feel that you will win your case.I have noticed that more BCBS plans are starting to approve more cases for adr replacement. Thanks ,JF110 |
