It's good in the rain as well!
I had a Saturn once which I liked alot, except it didn't stop when I wanted it to. Front wheel drive and light. But it was great that I never got any dents in the side. Forgot what the sides are made of but it just pops back out if you are hit by another car door. Had several accidents when people pulled out in front of me, (good old NY drivers)and decided I needed AWD and ABS. Since then, it stop when I want to. :-)

I have a Nissan Maxima and the seat ergonomics are perfect! (plus it's fast! and with a flawless braking system. I love my car).

My friend just got a Scion (the mid SUV one) and it's great. Plenty of headroom and that upright position I like. This is about the most comfy car I've ever sat in, but I like it firm and fairly upright, in fact my old VW minibus was the best I've ever had, anything that gets my knees closer to right angles is the best. I can't afford another car to replace my Toyota (which is like getting into a bathtub) so I also recently bought a (expensive) thing called a Sacro-Ease and that has really helped with driving, I tried other lumbar things and cushions but this is a league apart. It adds a ton of support to your existing car seat (or any seat, I drag it around) I'd recommend it, It makes my couch comfortable too. Only drawback is that my head touches the headliner when I drive now, but I'm getting used to it.

let me know if you decide on a Ford product, i have worked in the car bizz my whole life and have an in there, probably save you some bucks.... except you'd have to come up here to LA, i live right next to LA Airport and could take you to the dealer, and i'm sure we could arrange a way to get it to SanDiego for you as i know that drive wouldn't be a fun one for you!! gary

Gary,
If my husband reads this he'd have me in a Ford in a flash as he has an Expedition and thinks I should get the little truck/SUV combo (what's that called- Sport..??)...anyway, I would like a smaller SUV than what he has tho one that is contained - no truck stuff. I do like throwing stuff in the back of the van/SUV -love that xtra space and love the 2nd row of seats to lie down in while hub drives a longer distance like from LA to SD!!! Thanks for the offer, will let you know~ I swear my husband will probably bring me up there to look at cars if he sees what you wrote! |
