Rein, thanks for that explanation. I wasn't looking for this topic but just stumbled across it as I'm new here. I had a discogram 2 1/2 weeks ago and it was EXCRUCIATING! However, I felt great for the next 2 weeks. I thought I was crazy and that it was a figment of my imagination! Unfortunately, the last few days my "normal" pain coming back more and more . Darn.

i can't imagine feeling better after the discogram. i thought i was going to die for 2 days after. i always seem to get screwed! but the good news is my insurance company approved my adr surgery no problems.

-back problems start at age 14 (1986)
-2001 mri shows bulging disc
-2 years of on again/off again narcotic pain medication
-2003 off pain medicine
-october 1st 2010 back problems resurface
-mri shows 2 herniated discs at L5 and L2
-discogram shows L2 is source of pain
-may 2011 dr recommends adr

I felt better after mine (other than the massive spinal headache) in 2003 for 2-3 weeks -- the extra inflation took some pressure of the affected nerves. The discogram was positive for L5-S1, so it was a "double validation" of sorts. Glad that you got some good news -- congrats!
