Good luck with the trip and the procedure. You can always start begging when you get to airport for upgrades, they do so for free on unfilled seats. We were upgraded on way over, but I was stuck in coach on way home. Was a pleasant ride over, however, coming home I stood for more than 4 hours as sitting was just too difficult and the seats didn't recline enough to ease the pain.

As you indicated, extra meds will be helpful.

I wish you a full and speedy recovery. Your in the great hands.

Bill

That's a *really* good tip I hadn't heard of before. Maybe if you ask for the wheelchair service ahead of time (as some people have already mentioned) and arrive at the checkin counter in a wheelchair, they'd be even more inclined to upgrade you, if at all possible.

Years of pain, discectomy, research into anatomy, hardware, clinical trials, facilities, surgeons, techniques, insurance. Attempts at ProDisc, Activ-L trials. Now, low bone density. D'oh!!!

At 61 years, no longer qualifying for trials due to my age (chronological, not physical or mental).

2009 - Working on improving bone density or getting rich so I can go to Germany, where medicine and insurance have gone beyond the Stone Age.
