My husband received a copy of the WC UR non certification/ denial for proposed 2 level ADR that for some reason was sent to UR from the consult I had in San Diego...
This surgeon doesn't even perform ADR and I had advised the Nurse Case Manager NOT to send his report to UR in terms of request for authorization for surgery as I still had to see Dr.Bae at the Spine Center in Santa Monica this past Thurs.. It's late and I'm not feeling very well, and there's far too much stated in this non certification as it's 5 pages long to put here, but anyway, at this point I have to talk with the Nurse Case Manager Monday to see how we will be proceeding now that Dr.Bae had decided to request authorization for a hybrid surgery (fusion at L5S1 and ADR at L4 if L3 is OK) but it seems that most definately it will be denied again if Pro disc isn't approved for one level ASAP... I'm not really deflated at this time.. disgusted, not deflated... |

Maria:
So sorry for yet another roadblock. Hopefully, this consult's need to write 5 pages is a defensive rationalization in which he puts his foot in his mouth enough so that you can rebut effectively...good luck with your nurse case manager tomorrow. Barbara

Sometimes it *is* sickening.
But don't forget how your prevailed in your earlier struggles. Best, Allan
