My 3 month evaluation for Pro-spine is coming up shortly.....
When I go to my primary care physician, and ask for lumbar xrays, do I need to specify what type? (flexion, other?, etc). Thanks. David

Now, I know what to ask for from my primary care physician (who, by the way, was impressed by the scar on my stomach. He was surprised to learn that Dr. B. also trained as a plastic surgeon) David

Impressed by the scar on your stomach in what way?
I had a two level from L4-S1 done and I think the scar is friggin' ugly. I used Vit E oil on it after the bandages were off, but doesn't appears to have helped much. Is there any other way to minimize the contrast between the darker scar and surrounding skin?? I didn't even think about the scar it would leave until after my surgery, and I saw how large the bandage on my stomach was. And it really doesn't matter that much now, just it there is a way to reduce the scarring, I was do it.
But I think for a woman it could matter a lot more -- affecting what clothes could then be easily worn -- and other things being roughly equal, it could be a factor in which surgeon to pick. I have not seen this discussed before, but perhaps it has. Alan. |
