Ain't that a crock of crap. The insurance companies have more power than the President of the United States and just as equal abuse of power as the current President. I say keep voting Republican if you want all of your freedoms to go away. Their agenda is to have only Rich and Poor people in this country. This reeks of special interest groups ruling the day.

Little pink houses for you and me.

Terry, I don't disagree much with you. But on the political issue -- I think both parties can shoulder the blame for this. I've been libertarian for years, but I am seriously thinking of converting to the Angerian party!

On a more serious note, where is HIPAA in all this mess!? Our government imposed HIPPA rules on the masses, which makes everyone's lives more bureacratic...doctors' offices less efficient. Why does HIPPA matter if anyone can buy all of your confidential information!?

HIPAA is a smokescreen to make it appear that something is being done to protect your privacy. There is no privacy when it comes to insurance companies as they know all of the angles to get around any of this stuff. There is always wiggle room in laws.

I am bound by 42 CFR and HIPAA though the ruling which is more stringent in each instance is the one that applies in my case. 42 CFR was always more stringent than HIPAA to begin with. To us this is just another acronym called MSGC.

I think Terry said it best.. What a crock !!

Our privacy is only important when it's between a physician and a patient ? Would that not then filter out to the prescriptions used for our docs to treat us as well?

I am quite amazed by this article really... wow !!
